Why Amar Lipi Exists

The default Bangla font in most browsers is hard to read, inconsistent from site to site, and often just ugly. Firefox lets you change it; Chrome and the browsers built on it don't.

The extensions that did change fonts changed everything: making Bangla look better made English look worse. Amar Lipi changes only Bangla. Every other script stays exactly as the site designed it.

It started as a fix for one person's annoyance. It's public because a lot of people turned out to have the same one.

Who Makes It

I'm Khalid Hasan Zibon, a product designer in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I've spent more than a decade designing digital products, from AI tools to fintech and food delivery apps.

Amar Lipi isn't a company project. I designed and built it, with help from AI tools, because I care how Bangla looks on the web. I also write about psychology, society, politics, design and technology on my Bangla blog.
